‘Unfair’ to compare Shubman Gill with Kohli and Sachin, believes former India coach

Shubman Gill: A Young Talent in the Making

Gary Kirsten, former India coach and current Gujarat Titans (GT) coach, recently spoke to Cricbuzz about the young Shubman Gill. Kirsten, who has worked with both Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli when he was India’s coach and led the Indian side to their second ODI World Cup Trophy in 2011, is currently coaching Gill at GT.

When asked if Gill is in the same league as the two other legends of Indian cricket, Kirsten responded, “He is a young player who has incredible skill and determination to be one of the best players in the world. It would be unfair to compare him to Sachin and Virat so early in his journey.”

Gill’s Performance and Future

Kirsten went on to speak about Gill’s performance this IPL season, the upcoming World Test Championship Final against Australia, and the young opener’s future. He believes that Gill has all the credentials to become a great player for India, across all the formats.

Conclusion

Shubman Gill is a young talent who has the potential to become one of the best players in the world. It is too early to compare him to the likes of Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli, but there is no doubt that he has the skill and determination to make a name for himself in the world of cricket.
