The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has reported that Pakistan will have the opportunity to face off against Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. Prior to this, the PCB Chairman Najam Sethi had threatened to boycott the Asia Cup and World Cup if the Asian Cricket Council Chief Jay Shah, who is also the BCCI Secretary, did not give approval to Pakistan as a partial host.
