Pakistan Cricket Team will play wherever they are assigned to play: Wasim Akram

Pakistan Cricket: Wasim Akram

Legendary cricketer Wasim Akram has stated that there is no debate when it comes to whether Pakistan will play their archrival India at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had voiced their concerns to the International Cricket Council (ICC) on playing at the world’s largest cricket stadium, however, the ICC and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) did not take heed of the PCB’s request and allocated the INDO PAK clash to be held in Ahmedabad.

No Issue With Playing in Ahmedabad

Akram declared that the Pakistani players would not have any difficulty in playing against India at the Narendra Modi Stadium, as they do not care about the schedule. He said, “There’s no issue with it. Pakistan will play wherever they are assigned to play. Simple. This unnecessary stress of ‘we won’t play in Ahmedabad’ – you ask Pakistani players, they don’t care wherever their schedule comes.”

Egos Should Not Be Brought Into the Picture

The former Pakistan pacer further stated that egos should not be brought into the equation and if there is a problem, it should be addressed. He said, “Egos should not be brought in the middle, and if you have problem speak it out.”

Conclusion

Consequently, it is clear that Wasim Akram believes that Pakistan will play India at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, regardless of the reservations that the PCB had expressed to the ICC. He also believes that egos should not be brought into the picture and any issues should be discussed and resolved.
