Jay Shah lambasts PCB ‘miscommunication’, confirms no visit to PAK for Asia Cup

Jay Shah Refutes Exchange of Invitations with Pakistan for Asia Cup 2023

On Wednesday morning, Jay Shah, the secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), confirmed that he will not be travelling to Pakistan before, during, or after the Asia Cup 2023. This comes after the Chairman of PCB’s Management Committee, Zaka Ashraf, stated that he had been invited to India by the BCCI for the ICC World Cup 2023, and that he had invited Jay Shah to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023.

BCCI Insider Refutes Invitations

However, a BCCI insider of Cricbuzz has refuted the invitations being exchanged. It was reported that during the meeting outside of the current ICC meeting in Durban, the hybrid model was approved, but there was no exchange of invitations between Shah and Ashraf.

Jay Shah Debunks Exchange of Communications

Jay Shah himself debunked the exchange of communications to News18. He stated, “I have not agreed to anything. This is just plain miscommunication. Probably done deliberately or mischievously. I’ll not be making any visit.”

Conclusion

It appears that Jay Shah has no plans to visit Pakistan before, during, or after the Asia Cup 2023, despite the invitation from Zaka Ashraf. The BCCI insider has denied the exchange of invitations, and Jay Shah himself has debunked the exchange of communications.
