Najam Sethi Withdraws from Consideration for PCB Chairmanship

Najam Sethi, the current head of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee, has declared his withdrawal from being considered for the position of Chairman of the PCB. In a tweet sent out in the early hours of Tuesday, Sethi cited the volatility and unpredictability of internal disputes as a reason for his decision. He also made it clear that he did not wish to become a point of contention between Asif Zardari and Shehbaz Sharif.

“Salaam everyone! I don’t want to be a bone of contention between Asif Zardari and Shehbaz Sharif. Such instability and uncertainty is not good for PCB. Under the circumstances, I am not a candidate for Chairmanship of PCB. Good luck to all stakeholders,” Sethi stated.

Zaka Ashraf to Take Over as PCB Chairman

As per Ehsan Ur Rehman Mazari, the Federal Minister for Inter-provincial Coordination (IPC), Zaka Ashraf, who has the backing of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), will take over as the new Chairman of the PCB.
