Cameron Green Catch creates HUGE controversy, Social Media ERUPTS as UNLUCKY Shubman Gill falls victim

India’s Shubman Gill Dismissed by Controversial Catch in WTC Final

India’s young opener Shubman Gill was dismissed in a controversial call by the third umpire during Day 4 of the ongoing India vs Australia World Test Championship (WTC) Final. As India was set to chase 444 runs in the final innings, Gill and Rohit Sharma had got off to a strong start with some good boundaries. Unfortunately, Gill had to return to the pavilion with only 18 runs, having hit only two boundaries.

Cameron Green Displays Reflexes to Take a Blinder of a Catch

Positioned at gully, Cameron Green displayed excellent reflexes to take a blinder of a catch. Scott Boland’s good length delivery, a tad bit outside off stump, prompted Shubman Gill to go on the defense. As Gill moved forward to defend the ball, he nicked a thick outside edge which was enough to send him packing to the dressing room.

Conclusion

It was an unfortunate dismissal for Shubman Gill, who had been in good form in the series. Despite the controversy surrounding the catch, Cameron Green’s reflexes were certainly commendable and he was able to take a stunning catch. India will now have to rely on its other batters to chase the 444 runs set by Australia in the final innings.
