The Tripura Cricket Association (TCA) has appointed former South African all-rounder Lance Klusener as the head of cricket operations for the upcoming season. TCA vice president Timir Chanda stated that Klusener is set to arrive in the state capital on Saturday to work with the state’s cricketers for overall development.

Klusener to be Given 100-Day Contract

Klusener’s exact designation has yet to be revealed, as he is yet to sign the contract. The 51-year-old will be responsible for overseeing the state’s eight teams in both men’s and women’s sections in various age groups, in addition to working with the Ranji side. The first phase of his stay is expected to last for twenty days, during which he will observe and guide the cricketers. Chanda mentioned that Klusener will be presented with a 100-day contract, which he will sign on Sunday.

Expression of Interest Seeking a Coach

In March, the TCA had released an expression of interest seeking a coach for the cricketers. Initially, Dav Whatmore and Klusener had both shown interest.
