Cricket West Indies Announce Squad for India vs West Indies ODI Series

Cricket West Indies (CWI) have announced their 15-man squad for the upcoming India vs West Indies ODI series. The series is set to kick off on July 27. Shimron Hetmyer and Oshane Thomas make a return to the squad after a long spell on the sidelines. Nicholas Pooran, however, is unavailable due to Major League Cricket (MLC) commitments and Jason Holder is also out of the picture.

Four-Day Training Camp at Kensington Oval in Barbados

The squad was named following a four-day training camp at the Kensington Oval in Barbados. Hetmyer last played for West Indies in August 2022, but has now returned after a year out. Fast bowler Jayden Seales and leg-spinner Yannic Cariah have been included in the squad after successful rehabilitation from surgery. Gudakesh Motie has also been brought back to the team after recovering from his injury.

Unavailability of Jason Holder and Nicholas Pooran

The CWI release mentions that both Jason Holder and Nicholas Pooran were unavailable for selection. Holder featured in the two Tests against India, but will not be playing in the ODIs. Pooran is currently in the US, playing for Major League Cricket.
