Each year, the Indian Premier League (IPL) provides a platform for young talents to showcase their skills on the big stage. This year, Rajasthan Royals player Dhruv Jurel made his debut in the IPL on April 5 against Punjab Kings and proved why he is set to become a future star. Jurel scored 32 runs off just 15 balls and played a key role in the Royals’ season. In 13 matches this year, Jurel has scored 152 runs at an outstanding strike rate of 172.73.

InsideSport.IN recently had the opportunity to speak to Dhruv Jurel and discuss his journey from playing Gully cricket to competing alongside some of the world’s top cricketers.
Insidesport:From Gully cricket to playing against MS Dhoni. How would you describe your cricket journey?
Dhruv:I started my cricket journey when I was 12. Before that, I used to play in my street. I was a very popular batsman in my locality. I used to play in a team of 10-12 players. Later, I got selected for the district team and then for the state team. After that, I got selected for the Indian U-19 team and then I got a chance to play in the IPL. It has been an amazing journey and I am very thankful to the people who have supported me throughout my journey.
