India vs Afghanistan series on HOLD, Rohit Sharma & Co to get month-long BREAK after WTC Final

India Cricket Team Set to Take a Much-Needed Month-Long Break After WTC Final 2023

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to give the Indian cricket team a much-needed month-long break after the WTC Final 2023. With the India vs Afghanistan series being put on hold, the BCCI is not looking to force a series, instead the team will use this time to rejuvenate before the West Indies tour.

Why India Needed a Break

India cricket team has been playing constant cricket with only a few members of the team getting any rest in between. Therefore, after a gruelling IPL 2023 season, this will be the first time in a year that Team India will get the chance to hit the reset button. The team will depart for the West Indies tour in the first week of July.

Why No India vs Afghanistan Series?

BCCI and Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) were in the process of having a three-match ODI series, followed by a T20 series. However, these plans have now been put on hold. The primary reason being the absence of a broadcaster. With the BCCI’s deal with Disney-Star expiring with the Australia ODI series, the India vs Afghanistan series couldn’t be broadcasted.

Conclusion

The Indian cricket team will be taking a much-needed break after the WTC Final 2023. The team will use this time to rejuvenate before the West Indies tour. The India vs Afghanistan series has been put on hold due to the absence of a broadcaster.
