While a childhood photo of Rana posing with senior player Gambhir has gained traction on social media on numerous occasions, a different image of the two eating together in the same dressing room on the eve of a Knight Riders vs. Super Giants match has also gained traction recently.
Despite Lucknow’s victory against Kolkata in their final league game of the year, there was still ample support for Gambhir in the crowd, including Bring Back GG to KKR posters. The fact that Kolkata won both of their IPL championships in 2012 and 2014 under Gambhir meant that the same result was by no means unexpected.
