India Receives Injury Scare Ahead of WTC Final
Just one day prior to the commencement of the World Test Championship (WTC) final between India and Australia, the Indian team received a major injury scare. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma was struck in the left thumb while batting in the nets. He was then attended to by the physio and returned to the nets for a brief chat with head coach Rahul Dravid before leaving the session.

The severity of the injury is yet to be established and no official statement has been released. Interestingly, Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, and the other key batters did not participate in the optional practice session, however, Rohit Sharma, Ravichandran Ashwin, and Umesh Yadav did.
