New Drama UNFOLDS, PCB to seek Pak Government’s APPROVAL for WC Participation

Pakistan Cricket Team’s Participation in ICC World Cup 2023 in Doubt

The drama between India and Pakistan for the upcoming ICC World Cup 2023 seems to have no end. With India’s match against Pakistan set to be held in Ahmedabad, a new controversy has emerged with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) now seeking permission from their government to travel to India for the tournament.

PCB Chairman Confirms Government’s Decision Will Determine Pakistan’s Participation

PCB Chairman Najam Sethi has confirmed that the participation of the Pakistan Cricket team and their travel to India will depend on the decision of the government. The PCB has also sent a letter to the International Cricket Council (ICC) stating that they cannot approve the draft schedule for the tournament unilaterally.

“We have written to the ICC that we can’t give approval or disapproval to this (World Cup schedule),” Sethi said. “It’s our government who has to decide, just like when it comes to India, it’s their government that decides.”

Conclusion

With the Pakistani government yet to give their approval, the participation of the Pakistan Cricket team in the ICC World Cup 2023 remains uncertain. It is now up to the government to decide whether the team will be able to travel to India for the tournament.
