India Cricket Team to Opt Out of Staying in Asian Games Village
It appears that, similar to the 1998 Commonwealth Games, the Indian Cricket Team will be opting out of staying in the Games Village during the 2023 Asian Games. Instead, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Harmanpreet Kaur and their colleagues are likely to reside in a five-star facility in Hangzhou. Both the India Men’s Cricket Team and the India Women’s Cricket Team will be competing in the Asian Games cricket after the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) finally gave its approval, after skipping the last two editions.
BCCI Yet to Decide on Where Teams Will Stay
The BCCI is yet to decide on whether the teams will stay in the Asian Games village. While some may view this as preferential treatment, the teams will not be arriving in Hangzhou until a week before their first game.
