US, WI to remain hosts of 2024 T20 World Cup, ICC confirms

T20 World Cup 2024 Not Moving From the Caribbean and the USA

The International Cricket Council (ICC) and England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have both denied reports that the 2024 T20 World Cup is being considered for relocation from the Caribbean islands and the United States to the United Kingdom.

On Friday, the two organisations released separate statements in response to speculation that the tournament would be given to England, Ireland, and Scotland due to the administration issues at USA Cricket (USAC).

An ECB spokesperson commented, “There is absolutely no truth to reports that the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 will be moved from the West Indies and the USA. Since the event is organised by the ICC, their statement must be taken as binding and conclusive.”

Event Planning and Venue Inspections Already Completed

The ICC has already begun preparations for the 2024 T20 World Cup, which will be the championship’s ninth iteration. With 20 nations and 55 matches, it will be the largest field size of any ICC event. Venue inspections have also been completed.

Conclusion

It is clear that the ICC and ECB have both dismissed reports that the 2024 T20 World Cup will be moved from the Caribbean and the USA. The ICC has already started planning for the event and has even completed venue inspections. This shows that the tournament will remain in its original location.
